Employees Driving Company Vehicles
All employees driving company vehicles regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT) must complete DOT driver qualification requirements. These employees must comply with all DOT, state, and Company regulations and policies, including, but not limited to, driving records, insurance requirements, driver’s daily logs. Additionally, we ensure that all of our vehicles and equipment are well maintained and safe for our employees to utilize.

Health & Safety Training Hazard Communication Program
To ensure that all personnel are trained in compliance with OSHA regulations regarding hazardous chemicals in the workplace, we expect all employees to complete the Company’s Hazard Communication Program. Such information and training are provided at the time of the employee’s initial assignment and whenever a new hazard is introduced into the employee’s workplace. Therefore, all Health & Safety Personnel, Operations Personnel, and Project Coordinators will receive this training within the first week of employment and before they are permitted on a job site, ensuring a knowledgeable management team on site. All employees working in safety-sensitive areas must have adequate training before any work at such locations.
Employees involved with hazardous waste operations and emergency response must complete the Company’s 40-hour HAZWOPER training course in Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response or have comparable training that meets OSHA 29 CFR requirements 1910.120 and is acceptable to Eastern Environmental Solutions.

Every job requires a hazard assessment which determines the necessary personal protective equipment required for each and every type of job. Meet The Team
Michael Flynn Sr.
Founder & President
Michael Flynn Sr. is a U.S. Navy veteran with 38 years of environmental industry experience. Since founding Eastern Environmental Solutions, Inc. in 1993, he has built the company into a multidisciplinary environmental services provider serving residential, commercial, industrial, and public-sector clients. Eastern is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), reflecting his military service and ownership.
As Founder and President, Michael sets Eastern’s strategic direction, leads its management team, and oversees the financial and operational decisions that support its long-term success. His investments in personnel, equipment, and new service lines have expanded Eastern’s capabilities across environmental remediation, drilling, geothermal, waste management, and specialty contracting.
Michael remains directly involved in major projects, key client relationships, and growth opportunities. Combining military service, firsthand industry knowledge, and more than three decades of company leadership, he sets the standards of accountability, workmanship, and service that guide Eastern’s operations and continued growth.
Scott Hamarich
Senior Vice President
Scott directs Eastern Environmental Solutions, Inc.’s environmental investigation, remediation, and contracting operations. His experience includes Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, subsurface investigations, soil and groundwater remediation, RCRA closures, spill response, storage tank projects, environmental and geotechnical drilling, and waste management.
He manages projects from initial assessment and remedial planning through estimating, regulatory coordination, field implementation, and completion. His work serves commercial, industrial, municipal, and public-sector clients, often involving complex site conditions and demanding schedules. Scott coordinates project teams, specialty subcontractors, equipment, transportation, and disposal resources to keep work organized and moving forward.
Combining technical knowledge with extensive field experience, Scott evaluates environmental challenges and develops practical approaches to addressing them. His focus is on delivering cost-effective solutions that meet regulatory requirements and can be implemented successfully in the field, with close attention to project coordination, constructability, and execution.
Doug Shrimpf
Vice President
Doug Schrimpf brings 39 years of environmental services experience, including 17 years with Eastern Environmental Solutions, Inc. He leads Eastern’s emergency spill response and residential oil spill operations, overseeing property damage mitigation, environmental cleanup, and storage tank removal and installation.
Doug combines extensive field experience with a thorough understanding of insurance terminology, documentation requirements, and the claims process. He works closely with homeowners, commercial insurance carriers, adjusters, and contractors to assess damage, develop practical remediation strategies, and coordinate projects from initial response through completion.
His experience also includes working with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies to address environmental requirements. By connecting the technical, operational, and insurance aspects of a loss, Doug helps clients navigate complex projects with clear communication and informed direction. His focus is on timely response, thorough documentation, and effective remediation that protects properties and supports the recovery process.

Senior Project Manager
Tom brings nearly 30 years of environmental services experience, including more than 15 years with Eastern Environmental Solutions, Inc. He specializes in mold remediation, water damage mitigation, and residential environmental concerns involving buried oil tanks, serving clients throughout Suffolk and Nassau Counties with a strong focus on the East End and the Hamptons.
Tom manages projects from initial consultation and estimating through crew coordination, field execution, and completion. He works directly with homeowners and property representatives to develop solutions that address environmental concerns while protecting the property and minimizing disruption. He also oversees company training, helping employees develop the skills and safe work practices needed to maintain consistent quality across Eastern’s operations.
Known for his attention to detail and personalized approach, Tom emphasizes discreet service, responsive communication, and careful workmanship. His experience working in luxury residential settings supports the level of care and coordination these properties require.
Mike Flynn
Director of Geothermal & Water Well Services
Mike Flynn leads Eastern Environmental Solutions, Inc.’s geothermal and water well division and plays a central role in business development, major project delivery, and expansion into new markets. With 14 years at Eastern, he combines field experience, technical expertise, and operational leadership to grow the company’s capabilities and client relationships.
Mike directs all aspects of the division, from pursuing opportunities and developing proposals to planning installations, managing crews, and overseeing project execution. Beyond geothermal and water well services, he manages complex environmental contracting projects involving remediation, drilling, and storage tank systems. He works closely with homeowners, developers, engineers, and public-sector clients, providing direct accountability from initial consultation through completion.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Syracuse University and completed hydrogeology field training through Clemson University. He is a NYSDEC licensed well driller and pump installer and an IGSHPA Accredited Installer. His technical training, commercial judgment, and hands-on leadership help shape Eastern’s continued growth.
Jim Mulvey
Vice President
Jim brings 35 years of environmental experience, including 13 years with Eastern Environmental Solutions, Inc. His background includes preparing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, conducting Phase II sampling and investigations, and supporting site characterization and remedial investigations for a range of environmental projects.
His responsibilities span project scheduling, field supervision, site inspections, contractor oversight, environmental data evaluation, and comprehensive technical report preparation. Jim combines hands-on field knowledge with strong analytical skills to investigate site conditions, evaluate findings, and clearly document results. His experience across both fieldwork and reporting helps maintain continuity throughout the assessment and investigation process.
Jim’s practical approach and commitment to thorough, accurate work help clients understand environmental conditions and make informed decisions about their properties and projects. His broad technical background supports Eastern’s project teams in delivering well-organized investigations, reliable documentation, and consistent quality from initial assessment through final reporting.
